A year ago, IUPUI announced Tom and Peggy Ward’s $100k gift to the School of Engineering and Technology. We are happy to report the Student Innovation Fund has it’s first recipient.

IUPUI student Earl Han grew up with a love for cars, “all I’d talk about was cars, or so my parents say,” he states in the interview posted at IUPUI.edu.

His team, which includes fellow IUPUI Motorsports grad Paul Lucas, plans to update the function and structure of the rear wing. While this is a complicated project, it’s just the beginning of the group’s long term vision. “Our 20-year goal, I suppose, is to become a small manufacturer of specialty or boutique cars,” Han states.

Tom Ward, Owner of OmniSite, issued a statement. “Peggy and I are proud to support the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI. It’s exciting to watch our gift fuel entrepreneurship and innovation in Central Indiana. OmniSite’s Training Program has gained applaud from customers across the country. Most attendees claim it is the best technical training they have ever received. This is because our 2-day training is comprehensive, easy to understand, and provides useful knowledge for technicians and sales reps alike. No long-winded lectures and boring PowerPoint presentations here. Instead, we teach actively by having trainees do wiring labs, product configurations, and GuardDog setup.

Now there is another reason to attend our training, CEU credits! Our program is certified by the state of Indiana and Illinois. This means drinking water and wastewater operators in these states can gain credits by attending our classes. We currently have our applications out at other states for certification as well. Contact us for more information if you wish to have our program certified for your state.

Our training has been so successful we have added additional sessions to our training calendar. Check out the training tab on the website to see the updated calendar and availability. For groups of 4 or more, contact us for setting up a separate group training session.

We would like to thank all the distributors and participants who attended the OmniSite National Sales Meeting at the Excalibur in Las Vegas on January 15, 2007. The event was well-attended with at least one representative from every distributor firm present.

Despite experiencing the coldest temperatures in the area in twenty years, Tom Ward and Justin Poehler enjoyed a stay at the Excalibur and the opportunity to meet with distributors to discuss the issues and plans concerning the Amps Sunset.

As announced at the meeting, distributors may visit OmniSite.net’s new Distributor Area to find helpful tools and resources for dealing with the Amps Sunset. Also announced was OmniSite’s new Viper Lift Station Monitoring Panel which will ship March 20, 2007. The Viper is a flexible, easy to install and configure, powerful monitor that provides a low-cost solution for those utility managers who must balance professional results with a smaller budget.

OmniSite was proud to honor BBC Pump & Equipment and Pete Duty & Associates as top sales reps for 2006. Other sales awards will be announced at the end of the first quarter in 2007.
