Newest Representative for North and South Dakota
Greenwood, Indiana – April 1, 2001 – OmniSite (www.omnisite.com), the leader in low cost easy to use monitoring equipment for the wastewater industry, today announced its newest distributor of OmniSite equipment – Dakota Pump & Contol. Dakota Pump & Contol has agreed to be the exclusive dealer of OmniSite equipment for the states of North & South Dakota.
Roy Schmeling was the original organizer of Dakota Pump & Control Co. Inc of Watertown, South Dakota and Dakota Pump Inc. of Mitchell, South Dakota. Roy Originally worked 13 years for Fairbanks Morse Pump Co. as a field engineer, calling on and assisting engineers and contractors with hydraulic problems and pump selections in the states of North and South Dakota.
Fairbanks Morse Inc. of St. Paul MN shut down it’s district office in 1965, at which time they offered the distributorship of their products for North and South Dakota to Roy. He then started Dakota Pump & Control Co. in Watertown, SD. Dakota Pump & Control Co. purchased Sanders, Inc. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and began to manufacture Packaged Lift Stations with Roy Schmeling serving as President and Jim Sanders as Engineer / Plant Manager. After manufacturing for approximately 2 years in Sioux Falls, the business expanded and moved to Mitchell, SD with help of ideas from Carl Sheesley, a large local Mechanical Contractor and other local investors.
No longer being able to keep up with managing of both firms, Roy sold off his share of the Mitchell, SD plant to devote total time Dakota Pump & Control Co. of Watertown, SD. Roy Schmeling retired in 1986 and turned over operations to Larry Schmeling and Rod Redlin. In 1994 Rod and Lana Redlin acquired Dakota Pump & Control Co, Inc. and are presently the owners and operators.
