Greenwood, Indiana – April 1, 2001 – OmniSite (www.omnisite.com), the leader in low cost easy to use monitoring equipment for the wastewater industry, today announced its newest distributor of OmniSite equipment – Dakota Pump & Contol. Dakota Pump & Contol has agreed to be the exclusive dealer of OmniSite equipment for the states of North & South Dakota.

Roy Schmeling was the original organizer of Dakota Pump & Control Co. Inc of Watertown, South Dakota and Dakota Pump Inc. of Mitchell, South Dakota. Roy Originally worked 13 years for Fairbanks Morse Pump Co. as a field engineer, calling on and assisting engineers and contractors with hydraulic problems and pump selections in the states of North and South Dakota.

Fairbanks Morse Inc. of St. Paul MN shut down it’s district office in 1965, at which time they offered the distributorship of their products for North and South Dakota to Roy. He then started Dakota Pump & Control Co. in Watertown, SD. Dakota Pump & Control Co. purchased Sanders, Inc. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and began to manufacture Packaged Lift Stations with Roy Schmeling serving as President and Jim Sanders as Engineer / Plant Manager. After manufacturing for approximately 2 years in Sioux Falls, the business expanded and moved to Mitchell, SD with help of ideas from Carl Sheesley, a large local Mechanical Contractor and other local investors.

No longer being able to keep up with managing of both firms, Roy sold off his share of the Mitchell, SD plant to devote total time Dakota Pump & Control Co. of Watertown, SD. Roy Schmeling retired in 1986 and turned over operations to Larry Schmeling and Rod Redlin. In 1994 Rod and Lana Redlin acquired Dakota Pump & Control Co, Inc. and are presently the owners and operators.

BBC Pump & Equipment has agreed to be the exclusive dealer of OmniSite equipment for the state of Indiana.

BBC is located at 1125 West 16th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana since 1982 and currently occupies 11,000 square feet of building space. This facility is centrally located so that they can service their customer base in the state of Indiana.

BBC’s mission is to provide customer oriented service through the proper application of quality pump equipment. Since their inception, they have grown to employ twenty-four people. BBC currently has three outside sales people in the Industrial market, four outside sales people in the Municipal market, one outside sales person in the Fire Protection market, seven inside sales support people and nine people involved in their service department.

BBC is associated with several manufacturers of quality pumping equipment that allows them the ability to solve most any liquid pumping application.

OmniSite Releases the XR50

Greenwood, Indiana – January 1, 2001 – OmniSite (www.omnisite.com), the leader in low cost easy to use monitoring equipment for the wastewater industry, today announced the release of the XR-50 Micro RTU, which provides the functionality of a telephone alarm dialer and telemetry radio in a micro-miniature hardened package.

The XR-50 is a cellular modem module capable of monitoring ten alarm contacts, and can deliver a user notification via e-mail, pager, or standard voice. All ten alarm input channels are optically isolated for superior lightning protection. The XR-50 is also excellent for CSO monitoring using the optional solar power supply.

The XR-50 is user configurable via the internet using a standard web browser, allowing the user to monitor and configure their equipment worldwide. Additionally this low cost unit provides nationwide monitoring capabilities from a central location without long distance telephone charges. Monthly service fees are 50% less than standard telephone lines, and coverage is available for 98% of the U.S.A. and Canada.
