OmniSite's History

Want a little history lesson in all things OmniSite? Buckle in and read below. OmniSite is a privately owned family business that started in the garage and is now located in downtown Indianapolis!

01/03/1998

Logical Concepts, Inc. Founded

On January 3rd, 1998, Logical Concepts, Inc became Tom Ward's first Solo business venture in the garage attached to his family home.

2000

First Office Space Leased

Tom moved into his first office space in Greenwood Indiana and finalized the development of the XR50 wireless monitoring system

2001

First Patent & XR50 Product Sales

Tom applied for a patent on his cellular technology and began selling the XR50 system in early 2001. During this time the business decided to modernize its's name and began doing business as Omni-Site.net!

2003

Introducing the Crystal Ball

After seeing the success and need for the XR50, the Crystal Ball was created. The Crystal ball is another cellular device that monitors both digital and analog sensor signals, serving as the Big Brother to the XR50 providing many more pump-control features.

November 2004

Brought in the Viper

This product was created as a stepped down version of the XR50 that sold as a lower price point to help better support customers. The Viper has since been discontinued.

2008

Name Change

In 2008, the company name changed from the hyphenated website moniker to simply OmniSite.

2012

SmartLight was Created

In 2012, the SmartLight product was created, and after several upgrades has now turned into OmniSite's successful OmniBeacon product.

August 2015

Current Product - OmniBeacon

The third generation SmartLight was renamed the OmniBeacon. It is a complete redesign that incorporates all our customers feedback and idea's. 

2016

We Moved!

Moved from Greenwood to downtown Indianapolis.

2018

Residential Business Launched

In the fall, DriBot launched becoming the first whole home water monitoring system to replace a basic sump pump system.

2022

Server Migration - AWS

OmniSite starts multi-year project to migrate back-end servers to multiple regions within Amazon AWS for high availability, high redundancy, and secure back end.

January 2024

GuardDog ver 2.0

  Omnisite starts another multi-year project creating GuardDog ver 2.0 with advanced features to accommodate new WINGs multimodal device launch.

October 2024

Launched Peer to Peer Control

 OmniSite releases peer-to-peer control allowing any OmniSite product to signal another for complex interlocked control across long distances using a simple fill-in-the-blanks table, eliminating complex programming.

August 2025

Rapid Installation Kits

OmniSite offers the XR50 and Crystal Ball as kits including pre-terminated wire harnesses, conduit and analog sensors for rapid field installation.

October 2025

PLUS Units

OmniSite upgrades legacy XR50 and Crystal Ball with new circuit boards and OTA ability in anticipation of new WINGs product launch.

January 2026

NEW Product Alert

  OmniSite releases new, revolutionary WINGs, multimodal product that is a combination camera surveillance, telemetry, and PLC data gateway. An industry first.

March 2026

Virtual Microbiologist

 OmniSite launches new AI powered virtual microbiologist + process advisor software allowing a lab operator to connect their camera microscope to OmniSite cloud software which will automatically count and identify wastewater indicator organisms, plus floc health and other critical process parameters, and advise on wastewater plant adjustments for precise control. Another industry first!
