BABA Compliant

Build America, Buy America Compliance

OmniSite products are designed to support compliance with the Build America, Buy America Act, helping municipalities meet federal funding requirements with confidence. By aligning with BABA standards, OmniSite enables agencies to utilize critical infrastructure funding without delays or complications tied to sourcing restrictions.

Why This Matters for Municipalities:

BABA compliance ensures that projects funded through federal programs prioritize domestically produced materials, strengthening supply chain reliability and supporting U.S. manufacturing. For municipalities, this means faster project approvals, reduced risk of non-compliance, and easier access to grants and funding opportunities—all while deploying trusted, high-performance monitoring solutions.

New Product - WINGs

From Insight to Action: Why Visibility Matters More Than Ever

During spring rain events, operators often rely on increased runtimes or alarms to signal a problem. But by the time those alerts hit, excess flow may already be stressing your system. What if you could seehear, and verify what’s happening at your lift station the moment it starts?

That’s where OmniSite’s WINGs platform changes the game.

With WINGs, operators don’t just receive alarms, they gain full situational awareness. Real-time data, combined with video and audio alarm validation, allows you to instantly confirm site conditions without rolling a truck. When a high-level alarm triggers, WINGs can automatically send a short video clip directly to your phone, so you know exactly what you're walking into before you even leave.

Beyond visibility, WINGs delivers deeper insight into system performance. Track pump runtimes, cycle counts, drawdown rates, and even rainfall data—all in one place. This makes it easier to identify I&I trends early and take proactive steps before they turn into overflows or costly damage.

And because WINGs integrates monitoring, notifications, and cloud-based historian into one system, it eliminates the need for complex programming or multiple platforms. It’s designed for operators—simple to use, powerful in capability.

As I&I challenges increase this season, having the right tools in place can mean the difference between reacting to problems and staying ahead of them.

OmniSite Tech Tips: Understanding Inflow & Infiltration (I&I)

As spring rains arrive, wastewater systems often experience a surge in flow due to Inflow & Infiltration (I&I)—a common but costly challenge for municipalities and operators.

Inflow refers to stormwater entering the system through direct sources like manhole covers, cross connections, or illegal hookups. Infiltration, on the other hand, is groundwater seeping into pipes through cracks, joints, or deteriorated infrastructure. While both are unavoidable to some extent, excessive I&I can quickly overwhelm lift stations and treatment facilities.

So why does this matter?

During heavy rain events, I&I can cause:

  • Increased pump runtimes and cycling
  • Higher energy consumption
  • Premature equipment wear and tear
  • Risk of sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs)

One of the biggest challenges with I&I is that it often goes unnoticed until it becomes a major problem. That’s where data and visibility come into play.

By monitoring pump runtimes, cycle frequency, and alarm activity, operators can identify unusual patterns that signal I&I issues. For example, if pumps are running longer or more frequently during or after rainfall, it may indicate excess water entering the system.

What can operators do?

  • Track and compare runtimes before, during, and after rain events
  • Watch for sudden spikes in cycle counts
  • Inspect known problem areas like older pipes and manholes
  • Use real-time alerts to respond quickly to abnormal conditions

Having access to real-time data allows operators to move from reactive to proactive—addressing issues before they lead to costly failures or environmental concerns.

As we head into a wetter season, keeping a close eye on your system’s performance can make all the difference. A little insight today can prevent a major issue tomorrow.
